Yeah, that's my take on the .45 as well. Grab one if you ever get the chance and have a desire for a .45. I really nevr wanted a .45 after shooting the guns a couple of friends have but this one is ... more »

I got the Stoeger for $400. Still an unbeatable deal for what it is. I just wish it had the assesory rail like the .45. I get people to shoot a few rounds on the range for opinion and everyone so far loves it. Fits like a glove and hardly any recoil.

Did you get the Stoeger or the Beretta? I was looking at a used Beretta compact 8000 9mm recently for $400. I love the 8045 I have as does everyone that shoots it.

All of the guns you list are good. I might just get the S&W because I could use +P for better power in a defensive situation. 380 is second choice in any gun.

While I have the Beretta and not the Stoeger, I can't find anything negative to say about the gun other than the price of .45 ammo. It eats EVERYTHING I've forced down it's throat and breakdown ... more »

I bought my Stoeger cougar 8000 9mm new in June 2007, I've put 2k rounds through it without a single issue. It shoots better than I do, making a ragged hole out of the 10 ring at 10 yds. At 15-25 ... more »

What is the basic difference between the BERETTA 8000 Couger and the STOEGER model... I know BERETTA owns Stoeger and the Stoegers are made in Turkey, but is there any real difference in the QUALTY of the guns... cause my STOEGER is really turning-out to be a GREAT shoot for $325!

I hear you. Unfortunately local gun shows are not like the Shot Show in Las Vegas. I have seen a few in the larger cities that were well attended by manufactures reps but not many.
